HAIKU MASTERS

MARCH 2018 -WEEK #4

runners -up

Comments:

Your childhood home now stands empty as it grows old and weak. Yet swallows come and make their nests inside the cracks of the walls, almost as if they are trying to repair them and prepare for new life. Swallows are a sign of spring, adding warmth to a work that is already full of the author’s love of their childhood home. Even though the photo of a dilapidated, abandoned building seems bleak, paring it with a warm, springtime haiku adds color to the overall piece.
